Professional Wildlife Removal and Animal Pest Control

Should I hire a pro, or remove rodents myself?

No one wants to have a rodent around their yard or in their home. With the exception of the squirrel, which is commonly found around many neighborhoods where people live, other kinds of rodents can be a real nuisance to you. They dig in your yard, they get into your trashcan, and they make a residence out of places like your attic, your shed, or underneath your porch. That simply won’t do.

In addition, you have to worry about the health risks that these animals create. All species of rodents are capable of carrying pathogens that are dangerous to you and your family. Even the waste that they leave behind them can be dangerous to you, and so you want to do all that you can to get rid of them as quickly as possible. This may make you wonder if you should hire a professional to do the job or if you can remove rodents yourself?

The truth of the matter is that you can have success in removing rodents, especially the larger sized ones. If you have a raccoon, a squirrel, or a possum that is made its way into your home, you can have great success in getting rid of it by simply setting up a one-way exclusion funnel and the location they are using to gain access into your home. This funnel is quite remarkable in that it allows the animal to get out of your home but not to regain access. This stops that from ever getting back in and handles your problem for you without the need of a professional.

However, smaller rodents pose a different kind of challenge. It’s not that you don’t have the capability of getting rid of them, but is instead about the fact that there could literally be dozens if not hundreds of rats or mice that are living in your home.

These animals live in large colonies, meaning that a few rats that have gotten in your home in January could be 60 or 70 by November. Maybe even more than that. The problem with this is that it is quite difficult for you to be able to get rid of such a large number of rats or mice on your own.

There is no doubt that you could read online how to successfully do this. That doesn’t mean it will work. Even if you got rid of all but a couple of these rats, within eight or nine months the same problem could arise again.

Because of this, it is best that you hire a professional to come out and handle your rat or mouse problem. You could buy poisons yourself to do the job, but it is better to get a professional who not only knows how to terminate these little pests but also can provide the removal service as well. You don’t want a bunch of rotting rodents in your walls and so these professionals will help you to take care of that.
